The ItaliaNLP Lab at the Istituto di Linguistica Computazionale “Antonio Zampolli” (ILC-CNR) brings together researchers, postdoctoral fellows and students from computational linguistics, computer science and linguistics working on computational models and technologies for processing, understanding and generating human language, with particular attention to the Italian language.
Our research focuses on the design, development and evaluation of methods and technologies for Natural Language Processing. Current work includes automatic linguistic analysis, information and knowledge extraction, knowledge graph construction, modeling of language variation and text complexity, and natural language generation. A distinctive feature of our approach is the integration of linguistically informed modeling with advanced machine learning and neural language models.
The laboratory builds on the expertise developed at ILC-CNR in collaboration with the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics and the Department of Computer Science at the University of Pisa, as well as through numerous national and international research projects and collaborations with academic and industrial partners.
The ItaliaNLP Lab develops advanced language technologies aligned with the state of the art in computational linguistics and artificial intelligence, supporting applications in areas such as text mining, knowledge extraction and organization, digital knowledge access, education and health.
